We are pleased to tell you that our BackerKit surveys have begun to go out to the wider group! Thank you for your patience as we prepared them.

Please remember - as mentioned in all reward tier descriptions, and across the campaign page, shipping fees were not included when you pledged.

BackerKit will send surveys in waves over the next two days, so please allow up to 48 hours for your survey to be processed and sent to you. If at that point you still have not received one please check your spam folder, and check that the email you used on Kickstarter is the email account you're checking.

Dune: The Storyboards - Imagining the Dune Movies - Now LIVE!

We're pleased to share with you all our newest Kickstarter, Dune: The Storyboards - Imagining the Dune Movies!

Dune: The Storyboards – Imagining the Dune Movies features images from Dune: Part One, Dune: Part Two, and the upcoming third film in the franchise. From the mind of visionary director Denis Villeneuve — who brought Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune to life with Legendary and Warner Bros. Pictures — this remarkable book showcases the creative process behind the making of the Dune films.

Featuring hundreds of illustrations from artist Sam Hudecki, Dune: The Storyboards – Imagining the Dune Movie showcases the creative process behind the making of Dune: Part One, Dune: Part Two, and the upcoming third film in the franchise. Hudecki has worked closely for over a decade with Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, who brought Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune to life from Legendary and Warner Bros. Pictures.  

Film scholar and acclaimed author Simon Ward — known for his making of books on The Art and Making of Alien: Covenant and The Art of Kong: Skull Island — serves as the writer of the book.

The book and slipcase designer is Ian Chalgren, who has designed books for Marvel, Dark Horse, Fantagraphics, and Image, to name a few, and has been an internationally recognized art director.

Hi everyone,

We have begun doing a "smoke test" with our surveys, where we send them out to a small group of backers to make sure there aren't any issues before sending them out to the larger group.

Assuming there are no hiccups or issues reported during the test, we plan on launching surveys to the wider group tomorrow or Wednesday. 

We'll do an update when this happens, so stay tuned!

Thank you once again for your support of this campaign. It’s no exaggeration to say that 100 years ago, Lon Chaney’s portrayal and makeup for The Phantom of the Opera ushered in an era of cinema that continues to influence filmmaking to this very day. Bringing Lon Chaney back and delivering a faithful adaptation of Gaston Leroux’s brilliant novel is a dream come true. We are grateful to Ron Chaney, Chaney Entertainment, and especially all of YOU for helping us make this dream a reality.

We at Rocketship Entertainment would also like to say thanks to everyone who made this such an awesome campaign to be a part of!

There are a lot of questions coming in now that the Kickstarter is over, so let's dive in:

Q: I missed the campaign - can I still pledge?

A: Yes! We have Late Pledges turned on! If you go to the campaign page you'll see this at the top above the title. You can still go select rewards as if the campaign were live.

Q: When will the BackerKit surveys be going out?

A: It takes around two weeks for Kickstarter to process all pledges, so we are aiming to have surveys launch around the week of November 10th. When surveys do go out, they will go to the email address you have associated with your Kickstarter account. We'll do an update officially announcing when they have begun to go to everyone. It's worth noting though that it can take BackerKit up to 48 hours to process all surveys fully. If at that point you still have not received one, please check your spam folder, and check that the email you used on Kickstarter is the email account you're checking.

Q: What's the purpose of the BackerKit survey?

A: We use these surveys for primarily two reasons:

  • To collect shipping payments and addresses for all our backers, so that we can eventually send their pledge rewards.
  • To provide backers with the ability to modify the reward tier they selected or get a last chance to add-on items. 

Q: How long will I have to complete my survey?

A: Our goal is to get as many surveys completed as possible, so we give around 30 days to allow everyone proper time.

Q: I want to change reward tiers, can I do this?

A: We can upgrade you to a different tier, just please DM us when you get your survey.

Q: When will my order arrive?

A: As noted in each physical reward tier, estimated fulfillment is set for January of 2027.

Please be mindful though of the following that is noted on our FAQ:

The delivery dates associated with each reward are based on our anticipated production schedule. They are not guaranteed and, as they are described, are ESTIMATES. Once we finish surveys and all add ons are locked we go into production on those items and will provide campaign updates throughout the process. Should dates shift, which is not uncommon, we will provide new estimated delivery dates in updates. Please note, that no date provided should be considered a locked and promised date until we have the graphic novels at the warehouse and until such time all estimated dates are subject to change.
